Bio:
One Step Back was a Pensacola, FL based new-school punk band that was formed in the Fall of 1997 by Charlie, Ben, and Scott. Originally, it was going to be a super fast, old-school punk band playing one minute songs to have fun and get crowds charged up. As they were writing, however, they found that their songs began coming out with a new-school sound combined with intricate guitar work, therefore they pursued that style. After many songs were written, their style became defined as "New-school, Melodic, Pop-Punk, with a Metal edge". Influences such as Strung Out, Lagwagon and Slick Shoes come out in their style of punk. Soon they added vocalist Nate Orderica, a friend Charlie met at his college who had been in previous punk bands in California.

Their first gig was as a four-piece but soon after they realized that they wanted a duel guitar sound. They then acquired bassist Greg Hunsucker and Scott moved to the guitar. They were a five-piece for a very short time, however, due to Nate leaving.

In January of 1999, Lets Jet Records offered a deal and in the following June, One Step Back signed with Lets Jet over a meal at Bennigans in Pensacola, FL; their hometown. In July of 1999 One Step Back's debut CD, "Growing Up, Growing Apart" was released. The CD recieved very positive reviews and the band was able to share the stage with such bands as Dogwood, Craig's Brother, One-21, Fanmail, Value-Pac, 238 and numerous others.

Soon the four members of the band realized the need existed for a new vocalist to come in and take over the singing duties. And in March of 2000 after numerous auditions, the band decided on Aaron Bond.

Most importantly, the guys in One Step Back were dedicated christians who view this band as a ministry tool.

In case you don't already know we are a Christian band. That means that we play our music for God. We owe every thing to him. Our main focus in this band is spread the word of Jesus Christ. Which says that if you accept him as your one and only saviour that when you die you will not parish but eternal life with God in Heaven. If you are not a Christian and would like to be all you have to do is pray a simple prayer to God and ask Jesus to come into your heart. All you have to do is say it and mean it. If you would like to just pray and say something to the effect of: Dear God, I know that I have sinned. I know that I have done wrong, Lord. But I ask that you forgive me of my sins so that I may be washed clean. Lord Jesus, I ask that you come into my heart so that I may be saved and live with you in Heaven. It's as simple as that. I promise you will never regret it.
