Bio:
It all started in September or October of 2008 if i remember correctly, it was the very last show we did with my previous band ”Ends like this”, The show was terrible we got shut down after 4 songs. We were supposed to have gone on a european tour not long after and i decided right there that we weren´t at all ready for it, i quit the band that night and that was it.

I wasnt aiming on starting a new band after that, i didnt wanna play with other people as im pretty bad at it, i like to have things under control and made my own way exactly, it is however something that ive gotten better at through the last few years, i guess i finally ended up with the right people to play with.
So at first i started From the tracks as a soloproject, where i could record my songs by myself and put them on myspace or whatever for people to hear, i still liked to record fast techy punksongs so thats what i did. I was actually suprised when i found myself being a bit lonely with this whole setup and i guess that´s the first sign of what was to come. I recorded the first demos alone. There were 12, including one old ends like this song. They didnt have titles but were named track 1, track 2, etc.

In November or December i went to a party together with old Ends like this guitarist, Patrik. We were talking and i asked him if he would be up for joining my project and if he would like to play the bass, and he said yes. Shortly after he joined we started recording our debut album which would be called ”This machine and i” The idea was that it would be released by Japanese label ”Fastlife records” Who released ends like this first (and last) record, it looked like all was well until they stopped answering our mails. So we decided to make it a free download as we didnt have the money to print it ourselves. People seemed to be into it.

This machine and i did find some distrobution in the form of cdr´s that was being handed out by a guy called Sean who was playing as a tour stand in for the welsh band ”a new day”, Me and Patrik met him for the first time in the summer of 2008 when he was playing a swedish minifestival called frasses fixarfest with he´s own band ”3 times round”, we also played with e.l.t.
3 times round stayed in Sweden for a few weeks to record a demo in the studio where i used to work and thats how we got to know eachother. After the demise of E.l.t sean was kept updated on our doings in From the tracks. He liked our album and tried to spread the word about us best as he could.

We started working on new songs basically at the same time we released tmai. So it didnt take long until the recording started for album number two. I think it might have been in April/May or something like that. We were talking to the folks at kickass records about releasing this upcoming cd, and they were up for it. And during the recording we were talking alot about how much fun it would be to play some shows and how we wanted to go on that tour that never happended with E.l.t. When recording was finished sometime in June or July i reckon, we showed it to Sean who said he would be up for touring it if we wanted to. He also mentioned he had a friend named Gav who he could ask to play the drums. Both Gav and Sean had played together in Sicktrick before. Basically we decided that we would do it, we would try to make that tour in combination with the release of Recover.

So in late August 2009 i went to the trainstation in Karlstad to pick up Sean and Gav, i remember that sean had lost his ipod on board, wich he never got back, this event initiated the name that came to end up on the tourposter ”the bad luck tour”. We spent almost two weeks i think, rehearsing together and we had loads of fun and before we left both guys were permanent members of the band.
The tour was short but sweet and when we came back home, things settled down for a while.

I was never really happy with the way TMAI sounded, initially i was stoked with the songs but after recover i felt like that record should never have been more than a demo (quality-wise) Recover really felt like a debut album. So basically i thought, why not re-record it? It could be everything i thought the first version lacked. So i started by recording drums, and after that we were quick to explain our idea to the wide public, promising the new version would be availible soon in a physical format (as tmai was only released digitally).
So in the beginning of 2010 right after our first UK tour (i think we played 3 shows) This machine and eye was released, we payed for the cd´s ourselves and we limited it to 50 copies which was sold out pretty soon.

During 2010 we set out to play as many shows as we possibly could. Being from two different countries it was hard to get together on anything shorter than actual tours. So we went on One more european tour and one more Uk tour, we also played Frasses fixarfest again that summer. Exept for these tours it was a calm year. We did record a demo of 6 songs that later ended up on the compilation cd ”Everything we did in between everything else”. Which was the first recording to feuture all the members recording their own instruments.

On the last European tour in 2010 we started talking about our upcoming fullenght. Everyone was eager to record and we talked about what ideas we had for the release and everything felt really cool. When we got home again we started talking to labels to see if we had anyone interested in releasing it. We ended up chosing between two different Japanese labels and decided on working with high speed flower records. What we did next was stupid, we set a deadline for ourselves with the label before recording had even started. So basically we had a period of time to do this and we had only vauge ideas of where we would record, and how it would be done best. The idea was that sean and gav would fly down and everyone would take two weeks off to record together, this however didnt happen, we had to change dates back and forth and we ended up with Gav not being able to come over (this was something we figured out almost the same day we was supposed to start), And because of the dates being changed last minute, I couldnt get off work as i was supposed to, and had a short few days to work in the studio before i had to go back. So gav had to record the drums in Scotland and then send the files over to sweden where myself, sean and patrik were waiting to get started on the guitars. I however had run out of time and left before the files had completed transition. A few days later when i got back, nothing had really been recorded due to ”techinical difficulties, haha” So we started from scratch then leaving us with something like four days to record everything. And what happens? The guitar head breaks, and we spent a whole day fixing it. In the end we had managed to record The guitars kind of properly and basically nothing else saying we had to complete the vocals at our own homes and Patrik came over to mine to finish the bass. No one was really happy with this way of working making everything feel really stressed and half assed.
Eventually it was being mixed by myself at home between school and work and everything else, the release was postponed two times. Before ”The greater distance” was finally released in April 2011.

And we went back out on a European tour, this time together with ”Rebuke” For 18 days across loads of cool places. The best tour we´ve done so far alltho we lost loads on money on fines, we had a great time promoting TGD and our previous releases, best we could with our stunning live appearances ;)

We also released a retrospective comp with high speed flower records in June that contains every recording we´ve done apart from TMAI, Recover and the greater distance. 35 songs in all and it's a great way to collect our music.

And these last few months we have been busy recording 6 new tracks that will appear on different split records, its been a more pleasant recording process this time and im pretty stoked about these new songs!
