Bio:
The history of Thoughtless Actions original roots began in September of 2003 with Matt Faupel on drums, Brian Gillingham on guitar and vocals, and Mike Boutin on guitar and vocals. The months passed as the band continually wrote songs and played shows in Calgary and the surrounding area. During this time several temporary bassists came and went, but nothing solid was found. A 5 song demo was recorded in May '03 at "Orbit A studios" based out of Calgary. This demo helped the band get their name and music out to the listening public and as a result shows started popping up left right and center. In August of 2004, Mike left town for school and a couple months were taken off from playing shows to look for new members. Steve Longfield was found in September on a local website forum. The band liked what they heard and he then settled in on bass and vocals. The song writing process began again as the band continued the search for a second guitarist. Several guitarists were auditioned over the next few months and the decision was made to continue playing shows as a three piece. December rolled around and Rory Babkirk responded to an ad in a local entertainment magazine for the position of second guitarist. He borrowed his brothers’ guitar, came out to a practice, and soon after joined. 6 Months went by of playing shows, writing, and promoting the bands name when in May '05 Rory decided he part ways with Thoughtless Action.
Around 3 years ago they decided to quit. The last line up was : Matt Faupel - (Drums, Backing Vocals),Brian Gillingham - (Guitar, Vocals)and Steve Longfield - (Bass, Vocals).
