Bio:
Late 2001 - the startup
When the school friends started up with what now appears
to be the Punkrock band Redasmonkey, the four
young kids never ever played in a band before, except
Mathias the drummer of the band. They did what all new
founded bands do - cover a lot of well-known songs they
grew up with. But after a while they realized that just
playing songs from other bands seems to be very boring.

2002 - first own composition
Redasmonkey composed, recorded and produced their
first demo all by themselves in summer 2002. The demo
was called "Wet Shirts, Five Songs and a Fart" and gave
the kids the opportunity to play some shows around their
hometown and as support for bands like The Sainte
Catherines (Canada), Slowride (Texas) or Redlightsflash
(Austria) on their tours through Europe.

Summer 2003 - first professional recording
This time the band spent three days in the Eye and Ear
Studio Ludwigshafen, Germany to record a five-track EP
simply called “Redasmonkey”. This new record gave them
more and more publicity and so Redasmonkey got a lot
more chances to rock live on stage for the rest of the year.

2004 - the new family, FOND OF LIFE Records
The monkeys got the possibility to release a full lengthalbum
on FOND OF LIFE Records and therefor the four
friends entered the Death Tone Studio Saarlouis, Germany
in march 2004 to record their first complete album. The
recording retarded as planned, cause they played a lot of
weekend shows, summer festivals and even got invited
to fill a slot at the Deconstruction Tour in Pirmasens,
Germany. During that time Redasmonkey supported such
great bands like Pennywise, Anti-Flag, Strike Anywhere,
The Beatsteaks, Snitch, The Lawrence Arms, Pulley,
Redlightsflash, The Movement, MxPx, 1208, Misconduct,
Slowride, Flogging Molly and many more but now we are
all happy to see the new record on FOND OF LIFE
Records called “Four Brake Fast” containing 13 straight,
pure and fine melodycore tunes.
