Hippyflip was a fast-paced melodic punk rock band that originated under the name Surefire in 2003 with Kris on drums, James on Bass, and Scott on Vocals and Guitar. After several lineup changes and some demo tapes, in 2005 the lineup stood with Scott on vocals and guitar, James now on 2nd guitar, Mike on Bass and Mitch on drums. This lineup released two EPs, entitled 'Small Dicks and Descendents Shirts' (2005) and 'Maple Syrup' (2006). Late 2006 saw the departure of James, but the remaining three members continued playing shows until Mitch left the band for personal reasons in mid-2007. Scott and Mike created the last Hippyflip record untitled 'The Eagle Spread EP' in August 2007 with Scott filling in on drums, hoping to find a new member to fill out the lineup, but great deals of effort didn't bring forth a comparable replacement for Mitch.
